Hello! I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling low. We all have high times and low times. This too shall pass. Here are some things you can do when you're feeling down:
-
Reach out to someone: Talking to a friend or loved one can help you feel better. Sometimes just expressing your feelings to someone else can make a big difference. You can also just express on paper by journaling all your thoughts without judgement.
-
Practice self-care: Take care of your physical and emotional needs. This can mean taking a hot bath, getting a good night's sleep, or going for a massage.
-
Get outside: Spending time in nature can help improve your mood. Go for a walk or hike, or simply sit outside and enjoy the sunshine.
-
Witness your feelings: Feelings love being witnessed. They are like a child. The child cries till he gets love and attention from his mother and then off he goes hopping and skipping to the next shiny thing. Feelings are the same. Instead of avoiding them, sit in a peaceful corner of your room and just witness your thoughts/ feelings without any judgement. This practice is called Sakshi Bhaav.
-
Engage in a hobby: Doing something with your hands that you enjoy, such as painting, playing music, cooking or gardening, can help distract you from negative thoughts and improve your mood.
